Maternity Chiropractic

Chiropractic care specializing in natural pain relief due
to the rigors of pregnancy and childbirth

Chiropractic care provides an easier labor and delivery as well as natural pain relief due to the rigors of pregnancy and childbirth. Dr. Brayton has a strong clinical background with Pediatric and Maternity Chiropractic, continuous referrals from Pediatricians and Ob-Gyns, and specific custom equipment for expectant mothers to make them comfortable. In addition, her specialized training in the Webster technique has helped numerous women avoid C-sections by gently assisting a breech baby in turning head down prior to labor and delivery.

I would like to share my experience with my last pregnancy. I went to Dr. Brayton for Webster Technique treatment at around 32 weeks. I owe my
super-quick delivery to
Dr. Brayton’s regular adjustments.
I had just discovered that the baby was still breech at that point and had hoped to avoid a repeat Cesaerean section (my first daughter was breech). After 5+ weeks of regular treatments (3x per week), my daughter finally turned at 38 weeks. I was able to cancel my scheduled C-section and give birth to my second daughter vaginally and without the use of medication or other interventions. I arrived at the hospital 5 cm dilated at 1:45pm and gave birth to Elisa at 3:19pm! I highly recommend this treatment, especially if you are hoping for a natural, vaginal delivery.

Safe Medicine During Pregnancy

The healthcare industry knows little about the effects of most medications during pregnancy, according to the The Center for Disease Control (CDC). This is because pregnant women are often not included in studies to determine safety of new medications. Less than 10 percent of medications approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 1980 have enough information to determine the risk for birth defects, says the CDC. However, studies reveal that taking certain medications, many of which are already on the market like Thalidomide and Accutane, during pregnancy can cause serious birth defects.
