What Chiropractic Can Do for Your Child
Tuesday, July 10th, 2012I love when parents ask about pediatric chiropractic because children and babies benefit so greatly from it.
In fact, I have been a chiropractic patient myself since I was six months old! Chiropractic treatment on children is accomplishing the same results as in adults, however, the technique is modified for their little bodies.
In other words, for children under the age of five, the treatment does not involve the “popping” noise commonly heard when adjusting adults.
Instead, the treatment is light vibration or massage over the misplaced spinal segment to restore its correct alignment. The reason why the correct alignment of the spinal joints is so important is because of the impact on the nervous system.
When vertebrae move out of place from physical, chemical, or emotional stress (which can even occur during the birthing process), the nerves that branch off of the spinal cord can be negatively impacted which makes it difficult for the brain and body to communicate.
This nerve interference has been shown to contribute to health symptoms like colic, ear infections, torticollis, allergies, constipation, and even ADHD.
From my own experience, children’s bodies respond excellently to chiropractic care when used as part of a healthy lifestyle.
In addition, N.A.E.T. (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique), of which I am a certified practitioner, is also extremely effective at clearing allergies safely and permanently in children (www.naet.com).
